Warren Players is pleased to announce the cast of their upcoming production of George Bernard Shaw’s romantic comedy “Arms and the Man”.
The story is set in the aftermath of the Serbo-Bulgarian War in 1885. It is a stairs on the imprudence of glorifying something as dreadful as war as well as basing affections on the idealistic notions of love. The action takes place at the palatial home of the Bulgarian Major Petkoff (Pat Ross), his authoritarian wife Catherine (Yoli) and their daughter Raina (Nyssa Brumagin). Raina is betrothed to Major Sergius Saranoff (Tristan Brumagin), the hero of the latest Calvary charge but soon finds herself enamored by a Swiss soldier, Captain Bluntschli (Michael Sternberg) who climbs through her window to hide from the fighting. This sets off a chain of events that changes his life and all those associated with the Petkoff family. The love story of servants Louka (Jean Gomory) and Nicola (Andy Yurick) add to and only complicate the plot. Rounding out the cast is the Russian soldier (Ron Keeney).
