Warren Players’ announce auditions for the upcoming production of George Bernard Shaw’s “Arms and the Man”. Auditions will be held at Struthers Library Theatre, 3rd floor rehearsal hall on Sunday and Monday, December 7 and 8, at 6:30pm. Call backs are scheduled for Wednesday December 10, if needed. Chip Lucia is directing this show. The cast includes five men ages 20 and up and three women ages late teens and up. Production dates are February 19, 20, and 21st at 8 pm, and February 22 at 2pm. Readings for the audition may be picked up at the theatre office or at Author’s Book Store beginning on November 30th. “Arms and the Man” is a romantic comedy that takes place in 1885 during the Serbo-Bulgarian War. Raina Petkoff is engaged to the gallant Sergius Saranoff, hero of the recent Bulgarian victory over the Serbs. But she is distracted by the abrupt arrival of Captain Bluntschil, a Swiss mercenary who fought for the Serbian army. He takes refuge in her bedroom after the battle and although he is initially threatening, reveals that he carries chocolate creams instead of bullets.
